Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story Flipping through the pages “Here, sir, see for yourself," He looked at me kind of odd as he handed me the papers. I took the papers from him and looked and sure enough, there was a photograph of Hank and his Drifting Cowboys all dressed up in cowboy outfits, smiling for the camera with a caption beneath that read : “Hank Wiliams and the Drifting Cowboys will be performing at the Grand Ole Orpy tonight at 8 pm sharp!'. I couldn't believe it!, I checked the date on the newspaper and it read : 2/ 8/1952 . I almost dropped the papers in shock and disbelief. Was I going Nuts ? I wondered then I remembered the mist on the highway, A cold chill ran through me.Seeing my obvious discomfort the young man asked ‘Are you okay, sir ?” “Yes ," I replied weakly and wondered if I was dreaming. ”It's just--,just, I am a bit confused.” I stammered. I looked at his face and the feeling that I knew it returned. “What's your name, son?” I asked hesitantly. “Elvis Presley” the kid replied.”Why ,Sir?” I was too shock to answer. Tweet
