Part One of a special story about a romance discoverd by a simple trolley ride. Part Two is in progress. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story nonetheless it was a possibility. Plus if you ever saw me - dressed to kill and out on the town with my buddies by my side, and a few beers in our hands - I promise you wouldn't be able to pass us without staring. We have a lot of fun when we go out; we live every day to its limit. I asked her if we had ever met before. She replied, "almost, but not officially." I asked what she meant, after a subtle, but refreshing unnoticed sigh of relief. Now I was able to rule out earlier doubts of who she might be. And beyond that be sure that I had not done her wrong... Yet. "I think that you are incredibly sexy," she interupted. With that she giggled lightly. The simple sound turned me on in a way I had not been turned in months. "With that being said, I saw you on a morning just like this one, riding the Green Line trolley. I was sitting in that seat right over there." (Points to a seat 6 feet in front of us, and 10 feet behind the driver's booth. A tan single seat on the left, covered with a blue piece of some cheap leather substitute, and located directly against a window.) Currently a woman, that looked like she could flatten every single passenger if she was so inclined, sits in silence probably relieved that I have calmed the raging trolley dancer. "While you stood tall and strong leaning against the rotating central section here where we stand right now. You were reading the Wall Street Journal and trying to eat a Nutri-Grain bar without stumbling as the T zipped from the Hynes Convention Center stop inbound. You stood there knowing your abilities, not fooling anyone. You knew that women throughout the train were moistening by just seeing you in between every jerk and jaunt of the trolley breezing down the rails." "I am flattered," I said, "but I don't know what you are talking about." I was confused by this woman and her complete attention in my presence. I had been approached by women in the past. That had become normal. Many girls think that I am attractive. That was not what kept my attention to her. I was still wondering... "What was all that jumping and carrying on a minute ago? Are you high?" I said this like it was commonplace. But in fact I was quite nervous that she would get . I only suggested such an idea because I watch a lot of movies. And often times in the movies these days if someone is acting like she was acting - unusually crazy or sporadic and spastic - it can be a result of drug use or from eating too much sugar or something complicated like that. "No. Not drugs--" And then she was interrupted. Right as she started her explanation the trolley stopped suddenly, and nearly all of the passengers were jerked by the quick halt. I had been a little involved with the conversation and had lost my concentration on normal balance. I was left off balance, but I quickly regained control, sooner than everyone else it appears because some were still shaken. Including the girl I was talking too. She fell towards me, I grabbed her to prevent her from falling over. She was thankful, but she used the opportunity to grab me in return. People were returning to their upright positions slowly but the T jerks around all the time, people are used to it. The two of us were not separating as quickly however. We were not exactly unhappy with the position that had resulted. It was then that I became very interested in this woman. Two more times I made sure that she was not hurt. I discovered that she was not shying away when I touched her. In fact she was fine with it. Women that are open to social and casual touching and holding are definately more attractive to me than women who are nervous and who retract from being held. It was definately a trait that I was fond of in a girl. I understand that some girls are aware of the dangers of the city and do not necessarily trust everyone; but it is fun to go out and feel comfortable at times. As I was thinking of ways to continue my conversation with this beautiful girl again soon, I remembered that I was planning on attending the Bruins game this evening. I asked her if she would mind accompanying me to a game this evening, I explained that I had an extra ticket. I left out that my fiance Marci was no longer speaking to me anymore and the seat next to me had become available lately. Marci and I lost touch with each other just under a month ago. She left me, saying that she was too busy and that she did not have enough time and energy to carry on an entire relationship and be totally committed to her job at the same time. She said that she loved me and that the two years that we had spent together were wonderful. Yet she was very much into her career and the forwarding of her status as a professional businesswoman. For this reason I lost a smart, funny, and attractive girl and was sentenced to bachelor status once again. She accepted my invitation and chose to attend the game with me tonight, to see the Bruins face the Devils. She aparently was happy, she was smiling and laughing. Her eyes were beautiful and her hair was gorgeous. I couldn't stop looking at her. I asked her what her name was. "Julie," she replied. I told her my name, and that I thought she was beautiful. I told her that I couldn't wait until later on this evening, when we could better get to know each other. I had stopped paying attention to the outside world, I nearly missed getting off of the train at my stop due to this girl. Quickly my entire board meeting stress returned. Tweet
