Another time Livia was walking home across the field and Winslow
appeared making eye contact, both smiling he ran up to her and took a
paper from her playfully dropping it for her to catch.

There were many magical moments like that, then one day on her way to
gym class she found Winslow in the hallway flirting with another girl.
Stunned and upset Livia glared at the both of them and stormed off
feeling hurt she had thoughts of who she would flirt with at gym class
to make him feel how she felt. Seconds later Winslow came running up to
her asking her to wait up for him flashing his charming smile in a
heart beat she forgave him.

One night while sitting on the swings at the park with her friends.
Livia heard some people from a building nearby feeling Winslow's eyes
on her she decided to test it so she picked up a white straw from off
the ground and pretended to smoke it. The next day at school Winslow
confronted Livia and told her that he saw her smoking last night,
smiling inside knowing he must have feelings for her she replied "Uh, I
don't know". She wanted to tell him the truth but she was also afraid
because to her he was like a movie star or something where for some
reason it was hard for her to tell him what she was feeling and she
walked away.

As time went on they both didn't know how to say what they were feeling.
It was during a school field trip that it felt like time was closing
in, another girl was interested in Winslow and she purposely brushed
past Winslow in front of Livia, Winslow backed away pretending not to
notice Livia looked away.

As other students began to take notice of the silent relationship. Livia
began to have thoughts of...how do act like the perfect girlfriend? And
how do I ask if he feels the same way? Livia excelled in her grades
getting scores of 97% on tests but when it came to trying to figure out
love she was stumped which frustrated her. Deciding not to face these
questions not wanting to get hurt in case it was her imagination that
she was falling in love she decided to avoid Winslow. It was during
softball she saw him from across the field. Smiling at her and then he
kicked the ball sticking like glue the ball aimed for her that she knew
he felt the same way.

Later that evening people were playing on a fort laughing going down
slides it was a carefree moment. Winslow appeared and asked Livia to
wait for a minute knowing what he was going to ask scared she took off
down the slide turning to look at him as she went down she saw the look
of disappointment on his face little did she know it was a look that
would haunt her for a long time. It was then she knew she was losing
Winslow losing Winslow without even making the relationship official.
It was then she knew she wasn't ready for a relationship.

Home now Livia went to visit Sahara. They went to the park and that's
when they saw Winslow riding his bike with a friend both running
Winslow's friend chased Sahara. Livia ran another way Winslow followed
pinning Livia in a corner holding her close. Letting him, he looked
into her eyes Livia looked away with thoughts of...what if I kiss
badly? Will I get in trouble? Then a student from their class walked by
and Livia went home. Feeling the instant thought's of regret wishing
she could have changed what happened and kissed him. Another evening
Sahara and Livia ran into Winslow and his friend again wanting Winslow
to know where she lived she ran home. Winslow followed, laughing out of
breath Livia went in Sahara behind closing the door.

Livia's mother was home looking thru the window to see what was so funny
she saw Winslow. Livia ran upstairs with Sahara. A month or so later
Livia's mother told her that they would be moving. Feeling her heart
break in half she thought how can I tell my mother I'm in love? I don't
want to move...as the school year came to it's end it was graduation
day and Livia decided that she didn't care anymore slumped in bed going
to sleep forever. Her mother knocked at the bedroom door "Livia your
friends are here they say people are asking why your not at the
graduation". "Tell them I'm not here" a few minutes later her friends
were knocking at her bedroom door giving her encouragement to go the
graduation.

Later at Jeanette's place she told them what was wrong trying not to cry
they all eventually all started crying. On the night Livia was leaving
her friends were there to say good-bye as Livia got in her uncle's
truck she turned to take one last look at her friends and felt her eyes
water. She wanted to take off from her mother and run away because she
didn't want to leave her best friends behind, most of all she wanted to
say good-bye to Winslow because she didn't tell him all the things she
wanted to say like I love you and she didn't tell him good-bye.

For a long time after that she spent restless nights crying herself to
sleep. For a long time she spent time wishing they invented a time
machine where she could go back in time and tell herself to face her
fears of not wanting to get hurt and tell him that she loved him
because in the end she got hurt anyway but what was worse about it she
felt like she didn't even try at all.
