This is my description on the "Seasons of Life." I hope someone, who knows how to write poetry, will read it and tell me what's wrong with it. Feedback is begged on this one :-D. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story Responsibilities come knocking at your door, Now isn't the time for feeling blue. You find the children have become your pearls, For you live for them now. You watch their worlds unfurl. Rejoicing in their accomplishments, Their dreams and desires. You've done the best job you can do, You are what they still require. ~Winter~ A time of discovery, A period of joyful abandon, And sometimes an age of recovery. Winter is middle to old age. You've grown as much as you can, And find you're as wise as a sage. Your children have children of their own now. This is an age where things slow down, Where recall your life and say: “Wow!” You accomplished so much and so soon, The time has flown by, Your pearl is, today, as bright as the moon. This isn't a time to dread, Most people don't want to grow old, Just be glad you're not dead. That's supposed to be funny, What I just said. Don't regret the live you've led, honey. For without the loves in your life, The agony, sorrow, or joy they've brought to you, Who could love you more, in this time, than your husband or wife? Copyright 2007 by Lori Tweet
