“You two youngling's are just shy!” The king said happily. Well? Isn't
this strange? The king smiled at both teens and said overly happily
“Well. Introduce yourselves.”

Lune was always strong and barely had anything to be embarrassed about
so she started speaking first. “My name Clair de Lune. The adoptive
daughter of Mala Kieran of the Munar village, your highnesses.” Lune
said proudly. She curtsied and grinned from ear to ear. “I am pleased
to meet your acquaintance!” Lune continued with a voice that threatened
the prince to keep his filthy paws off.

The prince got the warning. “My name is Rellik Lunar.” He said shyly as
he blushed intensely. She bowed formally and whispered “Father, why do
I have to marry a lady that I don't even know?” asked Rellik with an
adorable little worried face that little five-year-olds make when
something's bothering them. Lune smiled at this. Rellik seemed very
cute, nice, honorable and overly timid--which were her favorite traits
in a man. Not only that, but Rellik was also very breath-taking and
gentle. He was the perfect man.

“Well then, you two should court! STARTING TOMORROW, YOU SHALL FIND A
PLACE TO SPEND TIME WITH EACH OTHER!” He suggested powerfully. “Now,
Miss. Lune, go on and tell your family that you're courting my son.
Come back tomorrow.” He told Lune, whom was confused and was freaking
out. She curtsied and ran out of the castle.

“Father, why did you betroth me to Ms. Clair, when you know I love
another?” Rellik asked politely with sadness in his voice.

“DID YOU NOT SEE HER BEAUTY?? DID YOU NOT JUST LOVE HER SPUNKINESS AND
HER WILLINGNESS TO BE SARCASTIC TO ME??? That takes guts kid!” The king
shouted dramatically and protectively. Rellik new his father was just
being his usual dramatic and loud self. This was normal.

“Father... Yes, I did notice her beauty, but I know nothing of her. And
plus, you know I love Tama.” Rellik answered thoughtfully.

(Swearing ahead....)

“That bitch is nothing but trouble! She is after all a suspect in your
mother's murder case.” The King informed with a tint of anger in his
voice. Rellik eyed his shoes, feeling it was mighty interesting at the
time.

“Even so, I love Tama.” Rellik said with a sincerer look as he looked up
at his father.

“Please, Rellik... Do this for me... no, your mother. Please, just try
to be her friend at the lease?” The king pleaded as he fell to his
knees. Rellik positioned himself mirrored to his father.

“Alright.” Rellik whispered as he closed his eyes.

The sky was the usual dark navy blue with stars that shone brightly in
the heavens. The cool night sky made Lune's embarrassed cheeks even
brighter.

Lune almost shamefully opened the door to Mala's hut. Mala was stirring
a cauldron of what seemed to be a mixture of yellow liquid, slugs, bat
wings, and bird feathers. ‘It's a curse for some unlucky idiot.' Lune
thought with a sigh. “Hello Lady Mala. I am back from my job.” Lune
said politely.

“Welcome back Clair. What happened? I sense an aura of embarrassment and
eagerness.” Mala asked with her velvety voice that stole the hearts of
many. Mala took out her stiring stick and put the spoon part of it on a
plate. She elegantly walked up to Lune, causing her long black dress to
fall behind. Mala's pale, expressionless face made Lune to look down
and tell her step mother everything.

After Lune had told Mala everything, Mala was bursting with evil plots.

“Yes! Yes! This is perfect! Thank the Goddess of beauty for your looks!”
Mala exclaimed joyfully. She put her pale hands on Lune's shoulders and
hugged her for the first time. “You are finally useful! Do as the king
says! Marry the boy, and give me power child!” Mala told Lune with pure
evil in her voice.

“Yes...” Lune said even more shamefully.

'Why is Lady Mala my mother? Why does she do evil things? Forgive me
prince, but I owe her my life.'
