“It's hardly possible,” he replied, “ they sent in the exterminators and
those guys are pretty efficient with all the high tech stuff  these 
days! and they did say that there were scant public risk “ 

The scratching began again . “Damn, this is it,” said Marv angrily,
getting up quickly for a man his size “Must be some joker playing a 
prank on us” he rushed over to the cabinet drawer and pulled out a 
revolver. His wife screamed “Don't, Marv!' but he ignored her and 
shouted “You out there , this is private property, and I am going to 
shoot any f***ing body I see out there!” 

He rushed to the door and pulled it open then and drew back quickly ,
“Shit ! “he screamed for there before him, were three of the biggest 
rats he had ever seen , king size,  staring at him with steady red 
beady eyes! “Run, Mary, Run! “He shouted to his wife as they, in 
unison, pounced on him, knocking him backwards .The revolver fell from 
his hands, He fell hard to the floor, and they converged on him ripping 
at his throat .squealing in delight .He struggled hard for his life, 
but was out numbered. His wife stood there screaming hysterically as 
the rats  feasted on her husband ,Suddenly, one of them stopped it's 
feasting, turned and looked at her fiercely, its red eyes glaring, 
blood dripped from it's long ,blood stained mouth, then it began to 
slowly approached her. With strong legs, It crouched and sprung at her 
throat! 

They found the mangled bodies two days later and wondered what could
have done such a mess!
