days! and they did say that there were scant public risk “ 

The scratching began again! 

. “Damn, this is it,” said Marv angrily, getting up quickly for a man
his size “Must be some joker playing a prank on us” he rushed over to 
the cabinet drawer and pulled out a revolver. His wife screamed “Don't 
Marv!' but he ignored her and  shouted “You out there , this is private 
property, and I am going to shoot any f***ing body I see out there!” 

He rushed to the door and pulled it open then and drew back quickly ,
“Shit ! “he screamed, for there before him were three of the biggest 
rats he had ever seen staring at him with steady red beady eyes! " Run 
!, He screamed to his wife as they, in unison, pounced on him, knocking 
him backwards. The revolver fell from his hands as he fell hard to the 
floor, and they quickly converged on him, ripping at his throat and 
squealing with excitement.He struggled hard for his life, but was out 
numbered. His wife was screaming hysterically standing rooted to the 
spot as they began feasting ravenously on her husband. Suddenly one of 
the beasts stopped it's feasting ,turned and looked at her intensely, 
Blood dripping from it's long blood stained mouth .It's huge, red eyes 
held her spellbound as it made it's way slowly towards her.Another 
scream welled up in her throat as the beast sprung at her throat! 

EPILOGUE: 

They found the mutilated corpses two days later and couldn't figure what
animal could do such enormous damage.....but we know don't we? until 
next time, be careful how you are opening your door at nights, will 
you?
