This is a true account of the events that happened to me on the night my friend commited suicide. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story and heard me get up so she was calling for my help. Well, I opened the door that led to the basement and got the shock of my life. Suspended in the air midway between the bottom of the steps and the basement door was an opaque figure of Mindy hanging by a rope. My whole body quivered with fear, as I stood frozen by the image in front of me. After what felt like an eternity but in reality was only seconds, the glowing figure hanging in my basement opened her eyes and looked at me and screamed the most blood curdling scream I have ever heard in my life. The next thing I know, my mom and dad were standing over me in the hospital. Apparently the apparition had scared me so severely I had passed out in the kitchen floor and hit my head on the edge of the counter giving me a small concussion. I had to have 15 stitches. My mom came in to my hospital room and asked me what the heck I was doing to have passed out. I told her about what I had saw and her eyes filled up with tears. She had told me that Mindy's mom had found her dead that morning, hanging from the rafters of their unfinished basement. After I left the hospital, I couldn't sleep for 7 months after that. I would wake up screaming, tormented by the ghostly images of Mindy hanging. It's taken me a very long time to even have the courage to write this, but I've come at peace with Mindy. Deep down I think she just wanted to show me what she had seen with Sarah. I just think she didn't want me to think she was crazy. She just wanted me to know that she couldn't live with her images anymore. It's taken me several bottles of Zoloft, Prozac, Zanex, and Valium to get over my ordeal but I think I understand why she showed me. I just pray I never ever have to see anything like that again.
