"Wait," she cried out and ran up to him, "I'm who called. My sister's
missing and has been for about two hours now."

"Two hours?" he asked, looking her up from head to foot, making her want
to cover up with a jacket but hers was in the club somewhere, probably
stolen by this point.

"Yeah, two hours. But you don't understand, that's two hours too long.
Her and I came together, she wouldn't just leave me without keys to the
car," she was near hysterics again and she knew it, but the way he
grinned at her as if she were nothing but a piece of ass infuriated
her.

After what seemed like an eternity, she finally persuaded him that her
sister really was missing. While she waited outside, feeling as if her
whole world was falling apart, he went inside to ask for any witnesses.
When he came out, a tall redhead with a skirt so short she could see
that she was wearing a thong, just barely; was walking with him,
laughing huskily. Flirting with the redheaded amazon the entire time,
he filed a report and had her sign. Anger surged through her system,
but what could she do.

Being courteous, though obviously hoping she'd refuse, he offered her a
ride home. She did refuse. Something about being trapped in the tiny
car with a hormone infused cop with a gun didn't appeal to her. Better
off to let him have his redhead and call a cab for herself.

When she finally got home, the two bedroom apartment seemed empty, a
tomb with heavy silence. It wasn't home with Cayla gayly telling her
that she went to sleep way too early, that there was a good movie on
the box. Supressing a sob, she staggered to her room and peeled out of
her corset and jeans. Carefully, she folded them into her laundry
basket making a mental note that she needed to do her laundry tomorrow
or else those clothes would start to smell.

Then, slipping into a comfy cotton pajama set, the type with long pants
and a breezy spaghetti strap, she pulled back her sheets and slid into
the lilac cottony heaven. It seemed strange, her sister was gone, and
she thought she'd stay awake dwelling on her disappearance but sleep
claimed her instantly.

Cayla was dancing in the crowd, her light blue eyes closed in pleasure
as the music pulsed through her veins. Someone pressed against her but
she didn't care, it happened all the time when one was dancing.
However, the person stood against her, not moving and she opened her
eyes to see who it was.

A tall man of about twenty three with dark green eyes and frosted tips
smiled at her. It was a sexy smile that made her heart skip a beat.
Smiling back teasingly, she began to dance again, allowing her body to
rub against his. He pressed against her tighter, his breath tickling
her ear, and placed his hand on her hip. Then he too began to dance
with her, caressing her waist above her black miniskirt. Her breath
caught in her throat, this was too hot for words.

"Come outback with me," he begged, his breath hot and moist against her
flesh. How could she refuse when she thought she was going to melt
into a puddle on the floor. Briefly Dee flashed into her mind, but she
wouldn't be gone for long. She probably woulnd't even notice in her
obsession with self induced boredom and isolation. Still moving to the
music, she nodded her head, trying not to be too aware of his hand
sliding across her belly button.

They slipped out one of the back exits into the alley behind, the cool
air feeling great on her fevered body. Barely waiting to get away from
the door, he pressed his lips to hers, sliding his tongue into her
mouth. A soft groan escaped her and he pushed her against the wall,
his body hot against hers. His kisses were hard and intense, seeming
as if he were trying to eat her.

Then she heard the footsteps and the hairs on her neck stood up.
Forcing her head to turn to the side, she saw several shadowed figures
approaching from the right and could hear a few more coming from the
other direction.

"What the hell?" she blurted and the young man looked too, his eyes wide
with shock. Fearfully, she clung to the man with her ice blue
manicured nails tightened into his shoulder and ribs. Then she knew
without a doubt that death had been waiting for her in this alley.
Desperately, she began to cry for mercy and her life, for anything but
death. Yet she knew it was too late.

Dee woke up, sweat coating her body and her breath tight in her throat.
Her hair clung in stubborn, knotted balls to her face and she brushed
it away angrily. What had happened to Cayla? What had been waiting in
the alley? She had to go back and find out, for she knew the cops
would never be of any help. Still trying to catch her breath, she
looked at her clock and saw that it was four in the morning. Her heart
beginning to settle, she slid back into the sheets. She was going
during the daylight, when she felt it was safer. Whatever had taken
her sister was going to have to face her.
