Man meets soul mate through prayer | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story ‘Yeah.' Toby replied. ‘He's horrible to me. People think we are happy but we are not.' She screamed down the phone. ‘Sometimes he beats me!' Caroline began to cry. ‘I'm not having that. Tomorrow I'll go buy you tickets down here ok.' Toby answered realising to himself that finally he could do for Caroline what he couldn't do for his mum. The pie burnt to smithereens. The next morning he stomped his way to the train station and bought a return ticket so that she could if wanted, return to her husband. Later that day, she responded to his thoughts by ringing him up specifically asking if he had got the tickets. He told her how he was looking at them as they spoke and that she would receive them by post. He did not hear from her again until she had received them. Then she enlightened him how Herbert almost opened the letter, but she was able to grab it out of his hand before he got the chance. Every time Caroline rang Toby she was either busy packing her suitcases or walking off an argument due to the fact that he knew something. She had informed him by text that he knew nothing about their plans. Things were becoming more dangerous as each suitcase over the matter of days was packed. His guess was that she was going on holiday as she had so many times before, little did he know this was going to be the longest holiday Caroline was to spend. Eight days of knowing each other had passed when Caroline again rang to let Toby know that in the morning she would be catching the train. Confusion of what he knew, or thought he knew scrambled his mind all that day. I had sent her a message whilst she was on the train hoping that she was journeying down, but not trusting that it would happen for he had been so let down so many times. The time came for Toby to go and meet her at the station. He took with him the photo she had sent after receiving the tickets. His hopes were dashed when he discovered the transport wasn't there. Toby waited for a moment but nothing happened. He then strolled away from the station. ‘The 15:08 is going to be ten minutes late.' The voice over the intercom responded. He stood on the bridge patient and waiting for the next train to appear. His weariness remained until he finally saw her step off the train encircled with suitcases. He ran to where she stood. Although a new life for both of them was about to begin, little did Caroline know that she was an answer to his prayer-you could say she's his angel! Tweet
