A small-town carnival...4th of July fireworks, and Maggie. What more could a guy need? | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story got a blanket from the car and watched them from the hill over there," I said, pointing to a dark rise about a quarter of a mile away. "That sounds perfect", Maggie purred back at me. We hurried back to the car and drove out of the carnival parking area, down the road a short distance where I pulled off the road and parked. The knoll was directly beside where we had parked. It was part of a field that had been left to fallow. Covered in tall grass and clover, it would be an easy walk to the top. I grabbed a blanket and a small flashlight out of the trunk and we began walking up the slope. In only a few minutes we had reached the top of the hill. I spread the blanket on the grass and we sat down and settled in to watch the show. Below us, the lights of the carnival rides twinkled, spinning and winking at us as they twirled their passengers on their dizzying path. Music from the merry-go-round drifted up our hill, loud enough to be heard but not so loud as to be intrusive. Sitting with my arm around Maggie's shoulders, taking in this scene, I remembered her words and thought that she was right. This was perfect. The scene itself was almost perfect. But to share it with this beautiful woman, who had so quickly found her way to my heart and had become such a necessary part of my life, made the perfection complete. Hundreds of sparklers were suddenly lighted at one end of the carnival grounds. It was obvious that the show was about to begin. I scooted behind Maggie, putting my legs out beside her and putting my arms around her waist. She wrapped her arms around mine and leaned back into me. We sat like that, quietly watching the dancing glow of the sparklers, anxious for what was to come. Overhead, the first rocket burst, sending a glowing shower of red, green and blue shooting out from the middle of the huge wheel it seemed to create. A split second later we heard the boom of the explosion and I felt Maggie's body involuntarily jerk for just a second at the sudden jolt to our ears. Smiling to myself, my arms tightened around her and I kissed her lightly on her neck. In return I heard a soft "mmmm..." escape from Maggie's throat and she wiggled just a little, getting her body even tighter to me. As more shells burst above us, I became less and less aware of the fireworks and more and more aware of the warmth and the softness of Maggie's body, and very aware of the stirrings it was causing within me. I took my arms from around her. One hand pulled her long, blonde hair to the side and the other hand pulled the collar of her blouse back a little. "Thought you wanted to see the fireworks," Maggie murmured as I ran my lips and tongue over her shoulder and up her neck. I didn't answer, just kept kissing her, my hands sliding up and down her arms and shoulders. I could feel the goose bumps breaking out on her arms. When I allowed my hands to wander and brush softly over her breasts, they responded instantly to my touch, swelling and growing harder in my palms. Maggie's breath came quicker, her head tilted back and her eyes closed. Emboldened by her reaction, I slid one hand down her body, moving over and between her thighs. "Bob....", she whispered. "Yes, Maggie? "Don't' stop...please, don't stop". Maggie didn't need to worry. I had no intention of stopping. My body was on fire and my brain had dispelled all thoughts except how much I wanted and needed to make love to her. Moving from behind to sit beside her, our lips found each other and as we kissed we lay down on the blanket. Our kisses were short, but heated, becoming longer and more passionate with each one. My hand ran over her body, exploring every curve. Soft touches at first, then more urgent, more demanding. I tugged her blouse from the waist of her shorts and as my hand roamed over her soft skin I could feel the heat building in her. Her hands had slipped under my shirt, one digging desperately into my back while the other ran over my chest, sending chills down my spine. Above us the fireworks display had increased in its intensity and our passion grew to keep pace. We sat up and both of us began fumbling and tugging at the other's clothing. As each piece of clothing came off it was tossed to the side with no thought of being able to find it later. Now completely naked, Maggie lay back down on the blanket. But as desperate as I was to make love to her, the sight of her lying there made me stop for a moment. The glow of the fireworks bathed her lush body in shimmering, soft colors. It was a sight I wanted to burn into my brain, never to forget, wanting to remember this night forever. Rocket bursts reflected from her eyes, and when I looked into them, our eyes locked, her look one of both heated desire and pleading. Her eyes pushed me over the edge and I fell upon her, as if to devour her. My kisses found every inch and every nook of her body, neglecting no part of her. As I moved over her, I could hear Maggie's soft moans urging me on and feel her demanding body moving against me, seeking even more attention. With a strong push, Maggie rolled me onto my back and now it was she devouring me. Her hands and mouth were everywhere, sending shock waves through my body. My hands wrapped themselves in her hair and I heard my own voice begging her not to stop. She threw one leg over me and in the same motion she came down, taking me inside of her. The sensation was unbelievable and for a moment we both stopped moving. When I looked up at her, I could see the fireworks exploding over her head and I felt that I might too explode. For a second I thought of what sort of perverse silhouette we must be making on top of this hill for the carnival goers to see and wonder over. Then Maggie started to move, and all thoughts were gone from my mind. She moved swiftly, hungrily, as if seeking to pull my very soul from my body. Her head was tilted back, her eyes closed, teeth biting into her lower lip. Her movements quickened still and her intensity increased with them, driving me to heights I had never before known. My body was screaming for release and I threw myself against her, matching her fervor with my own. Just when I was sure that my entire body was going to explode, Maggie stiffened, then threw herself down on top of me. A thunderous roar came from the sky as the fireworks finale exploded over us. As if for emphasis her body started convulsing wildly, setting off my own convulsions and our bodies flowed into one another, our screams thankfully drowned out by the explosions above us. As the fireworks faded from the sky, our bodies calmed and we lay together, silently holding one another. We shared gentle kisses and soft caresses, conveying unspoken feelings and promises with our gaze. I tugged on the edge of the blanket, pulling it over us. There were still people down below. It wouldn't do to turn on the flashlight just now to look for the clothes that we had strewn about the hill. I pulled the blanket tighter around us and pulled Maggie's head to my chest. When everyone had gone, then we could look...but they needn't hurry. Tomorrow morning would be soon enough. Tweet
