Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story where all races of Man, Sat together within, - He grew with great strength, And the Men took sight, And they could only see darkness, for too great was the light, - So they rose against the one blessed, in intent to end his life, But the blade turned around, And the village was pierced by the knife, - So he hated his name, "One" he cursed, for they conspired as one, and his sorrow almost burst, - So Corcei he was called, For blessed he still believed, But he knew not yet how great, Not even the two perceived, - He walked among the mountains, And shone among the stars, He swam with the deeps, and cried for the garden's scars, - And after many days alone, he ventured back among Man, To begin the work, that his fathers had planned, - And he came upon Hitoy, The Village of Fire, A phoenix called Molte' they called god, and for the two there was no desire, - So Corcei climbed, to the nest of the beast, To kill the god of fire, To make the two a sacrifice for their peace, - And Corcei attacked Molte', For many days they fought, But they were equal in strength, And the victor could not be sought, - So Corcei prayed, to the two in the sky, For the way to defeat Molte', And save the Hitoy from his eye, - So they opened his spirit, and spoke to the soul of the beast, "No longer shall any man make your feast," - "For you will walk among them, for all your days, Or until the two shall look upon you, With loving gaze," - And so the phoenix Molte' became a man, one of ordinary strength and size, And he was sworn to the two, And all of the village opened their eyes... - SO ENDS PART 1 OF THE TALE...
