around as if she had heard something. She looked behind her without
seeing anyone. What did she expect to see? What was she looking for?
She didn't know.

---

Not years ago. Today. This morning, it happened. Most students had
lunchbreak and the cafeteria was full and alive with chatter and
laughter and every other noise that comes from a school cafeteria a
sunny summerday at the end of the school year.

Then it came. Someone was screaming. Then another and then came the loud
bang-bang-bang and there was chaos. A teacher was the first victim and
then several students. These things never happen in slowmotion, they
happen quickly. Emily was carrying her tray, walking towards Kevin and
me when she was hit in her back. She was thrown to the floor and I
could not move I could not think clearly. I saw Kevin was already
hiding under the table and I managed to do the same. He wasn't hiding.
He was lying on the floor bleeding and staring at me with lifeless
eyes... I reached for his hand, and I knew, I realized then what
happened. It was like a stab through my heart.

Trying not to think about it but I can't. It's all I've ever thought
about all day.

I fell on my knees as if I could not walk anymore. Staring into the
distance. Something deep inside me heard the train and told me to get
away from here. Like a voice from far away. I stayed.

---

Annah stood up and spun around. The train's lights blinded her almost.
She just stood there.

As I was her will to live, I tried to shout to her to stop it, get away
from here. The train was rushing towards her. Annah decided not to
listen to me. Through the ice around her soul she could barely hear me.
The train came closer to her and she was still not listening to me.

The ice was finally broken and she heard me. Annah stood there, frozen.
Not knowing what she wanted to do, to stay on the track or jump off.
She suddenly had a realization of what she was doing, she was terrified
and scared but by then it was already too late. She knew it had to be
this way.
