Poor Joan... tears come flashing. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story That spirit buoyant as the sea Awash in joyous revelry! She'd laugh so bright, so merrily, And always full of love for me, Clinging sweetly As we'd roam, Through flowered hills We'd laugh and roam, We'd run until the twilight fell And arms about each other fell In sweet and tender moments fell And if my heart was ever low Her laughter like a gleaming bell Would sing me out a cheerful spell, But laughter's now a lonesome bell That rings me with a hollow knell And so you see... Tell me sir, I beg of thee Tell me of the brighter sky Beyond this room of shadows Where forevermore I'll sigh, Forevermore I'll die, In these endless tears I cry For my sweet Joan. - Mike H.
