This is a really short story about a kid with a big dream. It doesn't take a long time to read and I hope its meaning will help you believe in your own dreams. Since it is a short story, I won't give out too much detail. In brief, my story is about a k

science class, I knew someday this problem would arise. The only
question was when it would happen. One by one, everyone in the house
came to the living room and starred at the television like me. Their
faces told the story. I knew that they felt the same thing as
I—stunned. Night fell and the sky turned pitch black. I wondered if
the bright blue sky would ever return again. Would I ever see the sun
again? Of course, I thought. What a silly question. I tried to erase
everything from my mind. I completely forgot about the personal jet
pack I bought today. That night was the longest night of my entire
life. I didn't sleep. I laid down on my bed, thinking. Thinking all
night long. Wondering all night long. Was this my fault? No, of
course not. Could I help? Yes. I had to help. It was my world, my
responsibility. I owe something to the world. I woke up to a brand new
day. I looked out the window and saw the blue sky and breathed in some
cool, refreshing air. What a big relief. Right after breakfast, I
started working on my proposal to the government. I focused and
concentrated hard. Hours passed and flew away. It was already 6 p.m.
I had not eaten since morning. I was so busy working I forgot all
about the time. But it was worth it. At last, I had completed my plan
and knocked half the problem out. A whole week has gone by. I spent
endless hours doing research and consulting science teachers. Good
thing my friends were very supportive of me. Tomorrow I would present
this to the authority and get it over with. I slept early to rest my
weary body. This was the big day. I hoped all my hard work would pay
off. I prepared myself a nutritious meal, anticipating a long day.
Shortly after, I strolled down to the Ministry of Natural Resources,
where Gord and I were supposed to meet. Gord and I walked up the stairs
to the building full of confidence. The secretary told us to go to
this man's office on the second floor. And together, we went as one,
on behalf of humanity. “What are you exactly trying to do?” asked Gord
curiously. “Just trying to change the world in a positive way. That's
all I can say for now,” I said. “You think he'd actually listen to
you?” “Well, every kid's got a dream.” I remembered my grandpa saying
that once. That night, I dreamed of everyone recycling. I dreamed of
everyone limiting wastes, and creating a pleasant environment for us
all. I dreamed of preserving a wonderful earth for future generations
to come. I dreamed of a bright future. I believed that dreams do come
true...
