was in total shock. Tears filled her eyes as she struggled to catch her
breath. “Oh my God. David, what happened to Xander?” “He was hit by a
flying piece of metal-or something I don't know, it's in his heart.”
Rosemary thought franticly, what should she do?

“David,” she began, “I need you to listen to me. Stay on the phone. Do
not hang up” she started the car's engine again, “I'm on my way.” “No!
Rose no! You'll be killed you know that!” “David! Listen I'm on my way
okay? I need you to keep my baby alive for me. You hear me? I'm
trusting you. Please, David, please.” David paused for a moment. He
knew Rose would risk her life for Xander weather he helped or not, but
his two best friends needed his help right now, and he couldn't back
down. “Don't worry Rose, he's going to be fine.” “Thank so much David.
I love you and be careful, you hear me?” Rosemary struggled to fight
back tears. “I will Rose, I love you too.”

She hung up the phone and picked up her speed. Tears poured from her
eyes. This couldn't be happening. When she arrived at the World Trade
Center, ambulances were surrounding the two towers. Smoke and debris
filled the air. She choked on the dusty air as she stepped out of her
car. She ran towards the entrance to the south tower, but a fireman
stopped her. “Whoa, lady where do you think you're going?” He asked.
“My fiancée is in there!” “I'm sorry ma'am, but I can't let you in
there. You'll be killed. Just sit down and relax, I'll get you some
water. And don't worry, you're fiancée will be just fine.” Rose sat
down on the back of a fire truck as the man went to get her some water.
She put her head down on her knees and began to cry uncontrollably. The
love of her life was in there. How could she just sit out there and
wait for him to die? Then, she looked up and saw an open path to the
entrance. She looked around; there was no fireman in sight. She got up
and ran as fast as she could into the tower. “Hey! Miss!” she heard the
fireman call from behind, “You can't go in there!” She ignored him and
went inside. She ran around franticly searching for Xander and David.
“X! David!” She called. “Rose!” she heard David's voice call out from
behind her. She spun around to see David kneeling beside a dying
Xander. “Ooh my God, Xander!” She screamed and ran to his side.

People were running out of the building, some fighting for their lives,
it was a horrible sight. She laid her head down on Xander's chest. This
couldn't be real. It was all just a horrible nightmare. Soon, she would
wake up in Xander's arms. Just then, a loud rumble was heard from above
them.

“David!” she said, “You gotta get out of here do you here me? Go!” “I'm
not leaving you here Rose!” “David, you listen to me, you can make it,
go home to Lizzy, David, she needs you.” David searched Rosemary's eyes
as if looking for an answer; he didn't know what to do. “Please David,
go.” “He hugged Rose, crying. “I love you both,” he said sobbing. He
kissed Rose's cheek and leaned to his dying best friend. “You take care
of yourself,” Xander said, struggling for words, “And Lizzy, she needs
you.” “Yea,” David said, “You take care of yourself too.” He hugged
Xander and got to his feet. “Goodbye,” he whispered, and ran out
without looking back. He couldn't bare to, but he knew what he had to
do, for Lizzy.

“Xander, baby listen to me, were gonna get out of here!” “Rose, you're
wearing that dress I bought you, it looks so beautiful on you.” Rose
smiled through her tears, “Yea, it's your favorite.” More rumbling was
heard from up above. Rose looked around her. People ran franticly out
the door screaming, and yelling for help. She turned back to Xander.
His eyes were closing. “X! Listen to me, were gonna make it, you just
have to stay with me okay?” She looked into his eyes and kissed him. “I
bought you a car today baby.” “You bought me a car?” Rose nodded, “A
Lexus SC430.” “Wow, a Lexus,” “And were going on a cruise, X, to
Hawaii, so you have to stay awake, you don't wanna miss that.” “You did
all that for me?” “Yes, because I love you.” His eyes started to close
again. “X! Stay awake X! Please!” “Rose, he said, struggling to reach
into his pocket, “I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?” he
asked, pulling out a diamond ring from his pocket. “Yes!” Rose
exclaimed, “Yes Xander I will marry you! But you have to stay with me!”
“I love you Rosemary,” He said, and his eyes closed once more, never to
open again. “No! Xander! No!” She put her head on his chest and cried.
Then, she heard an enormous rumble. She looked up, the tower was
collapsing. She looked at Xander and touched his face. “I love you too,
Xander. Always.” She put her head back down on his chest and closed her
eyes. The weight of the tower slammed down on the couple, killing
Rosemary instantly.

Outside the tower, David had seen the tower collapse, and knew Rose was
still inside. He cried into his hand, wondering why he didn't stay too.
But then he remembered; the one he loved was home waiting for him, and
he knew that's what Rose and Xander what have wanted. He turned towards
home, and walked down the empty street. He sighed to himself knowing
that Rose and Xander were together now, and they would always be, for
all time.
