"Close Dwarf Fighter, I usually take the cleric just because I get spells as well fight. If Mike wants answers at snap decisions I usually take the fight first so..." "Right then, You guys know what your doing" Michael looked around to see if anyone needed help, "well then, get to it." Allen set about rolling dice, and making a character. After fifteen minutes he finished and handed it to Michael with a "there ya go Mike". Chris slid his character sheet across the table, "I'm done as well". "You've got to love fighters huh" said Graham who was still working on his spells. "Looks fine to me Al, Chris. Ah thanks Kate. Mmmm that's fine again." Said Michael. "If you guys want to go and grab some lunch we'll start when you get back." Allen grabbed orders from Michael, Simon and Graham then himself, Chris and Kate jumped into Kate's car and went down to the local greasy chicken store grabbed food and came back. Lunch was fairly uneventful as the guys talked about the new game Chris had been playing. After everything was cleaned up Mike started with "Ok if we're all ready, yes, well then first things first, lets cut the crap and you all already know each other. I'm not having one of those bar meetings or such. Right your standing on a small hill overlooking a small town, the faint smell of wood smoke is in the air as you close your eyes and take a breath... -----oOo----- Allen, with his eyes closed took a deep breath. He could feel a faint breeze across his long flowing beard and smell a slight trace of a wood fire. 'Wait a minute, my beard' thought Allen as sound erupted behind him. "What the..." started Graham. "Where the hell are ..." began Simon. "Oh god my ears" panicked Kate. Allen whipped around and looked. Kate the closest to him didn't look exactly like Kate but what Kate would look like with Elvan features, pointed ears, triangular face with sharp cheek bones, dressed in leathers and with a slender sword on her hip. Graham had hardly changed. His ears were slightly pointed and his cheek bones more defined, he was dressed in long blue robes and held a staff. Simon looked rather comical, he was still Simon, same features, hair and eyes but bigger, bulkier with plate mail armour, a large Warhammer and huge shield. Chris was not much different from normal except well toned and muscled. He stood behind them all, wearing Plate armour, a sword and a long bow, and a very smug smile. Allen looked down at himself and seen a thick beard that went down to about his mid chest, his arms were huge and he wore a combination of Chain Mail and Plate mail. Everybody started to talk at once, but Allen shouted over them "Chrrrrrrriiiiss." At this everyone else spun to face him. Chris held up his hands "It's ok its not permanent. Yet, no no no its ok let me explain. Look all of you guys at one point or another have shared my views that the real world sucks, and if you had the chance you'd leave it in a heart beat. Well here's your chance. Mike has the ability to transport us here, but he can only bring us back twice. This is a fantasy world, full of goblins, dragons, and all the stuff we have only ever imagined playing games. It's a world where we can make a difference. From what Mike has told me, he is from this world. He has told me that some people are born into the wrong world and even though he was born here, he feels more at home in our world. He is giving us the chance to live in the world we were meant to live in. HEY MIKE YOU CAN BRING US BACK NOW." -----oOo----- Allen found him self sitting on the chair that he started in, in Michaels gaming room and gave himself a reassuring pat down. "Chris explained it well" explained Michael, "You can go to that world, the one you were meant to be in, and do the things that you where meant to do." "What do you get out of it, all our money and stuff or something" said Simon sarcastically. "No. All I ask is that you give me one of your possessions that means something to you. Its monetary value is insignificant but I need items tied to this world to keep sending people to Karolen, the world that you were just at. Look I don't need your decision right now, I can do this anytime you want, there is no rush, go and think about it call me and we'll talk more if you want." Allen stood up and started to leave, "I've got to think." "Hey you want a lift" called out Chris. "Na I think I'll just walk, thanks anyway. By guys" replied Allen as he walked out. Thinking back, Allen couldn't remember most of his time that afternoon or night, he just kept going over the only things that tied him to this world, his mother and sister. He loved them both deeply, 'but Mum has Phil' his step dad 'and Helen has Karl' her new husband was the big argument from the yes corner of his brain. The next thing he could remember was the Sun coming up from over the hills, casting new light onto the sea. Allen had made up his mind. He was going. Allen woke up, his legs hurt but other wise everything was normal. He then remembered why his legs hurt, all that walking. He was going. It was nothing but an old decision now, just something to be acted on, even though it was only 7 hours old. Allen was sometimes like that once a decision was made, which was usually why he was slow at making them. After having a shower he walked into the kitchen to make him self a coffee and the kettle was already on, with a cup already waiting. 'Mmmm Chris must be up' he thought as he got himself a cup and made two coffees. Taking the coffee's out on the balcony. "Afternoon Al" said Chris warily. "Is it, oh well." Replied Allen as he handed over a coffee and sat down. "You were out late", Chris paused and then continued "you make up your mind." "Yea, I'm going. I assume your going but what about Kate" continued Allen. "Mmm, well I'm the biggest bastard in the world for not warning her but yea she's in." "You should know better, remember the necklace." Chris rubbed his check and chuckled "Yea, she sure doesn't like unplanned surprises." "So what now." "Well I give Mike a call, and we go when he can fit us in. Until then just sit tight." Tweet
