Please, oh, please, come help me down;

I'm not happy in this tree."

I said, "I've never climbed a tree

And don't know how to save you.

But as I think, it seems to me,

Just jumping down would do!"

He cried, "I'm scared to try to jump;

I'm up too high, quite near the sky.

I'd make a dreadful thump!

I wish I'd never climbed this high!"

I thought and thought and made a plan,

"I'm going to find that parrot.

I'll find that bird, I know I can,

I only need a carrot."

Poor funny bunny shook his head,

"I only dreamed that parrot.

It was only in my dream", he said,

"That he was munching on a carrot."

"Oh, dear," I said, "Please let me think;

Perhaps we need a rope."

So don't let go, don't even blink.'

Just hold on tight, don't give up hope."

"Poor funny bunny, please don't fall;

I'll be right back with a long, long rope.

Just hold on tight in that tree so tall,

I'll get you down . . . I think there's hope."

I found a rope that's very long,

And rushed to save that bunny.

This plan of mine just can't go wrong,

I need to help that bunny.

I'm so glad; the rope's just right

To help that bunny down.

Poor funny bunny had such a fright,

But now he's on the ground.

Funny bunny's very glad

To be back on the ground.

A bunny in a tree is sad,

'Cause bunnies live down on the ground.
