Just a guy in a mental ward with his own ideas about what's wrong with the outside world. Just one part so far. Feedback welcome! | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story my memories are truly good, my doctor is then allowed to write a book or two and make a truck-full of money. Stuff like this makes me hate any form of dollar or coin, but no one sees it like I do, my doctor included. I often look forward to Doc D's visits since it is the only time I can see the newspaper. He allows me to read it when he is on the phone, usually making a tee-time or reserving a table at some posh restaurant. I only read the classified section. That's where the most informative news sits, although most people don't know it. I know that the Wendy's on Queen Street has been looking for a cashier for weeks, now that's news! How more personal can you get, knowing that Anne from so-and-so is looking for a smart, older, man to walk with. That is far more newsworthy that who won the election last night or what movie is terribly over-rated. The Doc tells me that I cannot handle reality like most people. I tell the doctor that if he thinks reality is me, sitting right in front of him, then he has a serious denial problem. "And Doc", I tell him, "Denial ain't just some big river in Africa." Doc says I avoid the difficulties in life, first by leaving my wife and then by quitting my job. So I tell him that if he thinks it's easy living with the worst drooling ping-pong playing forty-year olds in the country, then he should trade places with me for a week. He calls my hour with him 'sessions' but I think of them more as 'argument's. Man! Doctors are closed-minded, no wonder they can sit through all those years in a classroom; it's not like they have to think! To be continued..... Tweet
