This time with the engine on fire.

"We're going to die!!! DAMN YOU, Bill Gates!!!" I yell.

The laptop reboots remarkable quickly and I restart Flight Simulator.

The plane is still in a slow, uncontrolled descent, with the engine on
fire.

"Quick. Press control P for the parachutes". I press control P.

The screen says, "Sorry, the Microsoft Flight Simulator Parachute Add-On
is not installed. Please contact the Microsoft Helpline on
1800-MICROSOFT"

I dial the number. I am pleasantly surprised that my call is answered
quickly. I am talking to Tara, a Microsoft help consultant. She sounds
nice. I quickly tell her the situation. After a minute she understands.

"What version of Flight Simulator are you using?" she asks. I tell her.
"2000?" she says. "You really should consider upgrading to Flight
Simulator 2002, sir. Would you like me to email you the upgrade price?"

"Oh yes. You say engine number one is on fire, sir," she says. "A
seagull you say? I'm sorry sir, but I'm going to have to put you on
hold for a moment, while I talk to my supervisor. OK? Please hold,
sir..."

Music is playing on my mobile phone. Do do do, du do doo-doo, du
doo-doo... and on the hold music plays...
