Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story into Ernie’s Gun Shop and bought a pair of shooter’s muffs. The walls could talk all they wanted that didn’t mean he had to listen. He put the muffs on before he entered the apartment. Nothing. Total and complete silence. George laughed gleefully and did a little victory dance around the living room thumbing his nose at the walls. He could almost imagine their frowns, their frustrated squeals of defeat. He was ecstatic as he climbed into bed that evening. It was wonderful. Total blessed silence. Then, about to nod off.... “George?” He didn’t recognize the voices; they were higher pitched, tinged with a subtle arrogance. “Who’s there?” George asked, with a sinking sensation in his gut. “We’re your muffs, George.
