Then he kissed me without any warning whatsoever and it was good. Really good. His warm body was so close to mine I could hear his heart beat.

I am no fan of taking things too fast. This is going extremely fast but
it feels so right. I have no regrets. None at all. But if it was
meant to be it will be. Marc just seems like the perfect mate for me
at this very moment. He is considerate in every situation we've been
in thus far. He is hospitable and he is caring. I've known him half
of my life albeit not as personally but I do know his parents and most
of his friends. I am not going to go on and on with excuses of how
this could be right but it's not wrong. Or atleast it doesn't feel
that way and it didn't feel that way last night either. I better get
dressed.

Chapter 12

Today is Thursday and I haven't heard from Marc since we spent the night
together on Sunday. I haven't called him either. But now I am
starting to wonder if my being so open with him on my first visit was a
little too much for him. If I remember correctly, I wasn't the only
one there. It took the both of us to do what we did. He is as much
responsible for our act as I am. If not more. Shoot, he kissed me not
the other way around. Granted it was good and I was glad that he had,
I just wished he would call and we could continue on from where we left
off. I don't feel like I am demanding something impossible. I am just
finishing what I started and continuing on. Continuing on for a very
long time. I hope.

"Hello," I say after trying to figure out who could be calling me from a
 (734) area code. Mine is a (313) area code even though (734)
literally starts across the street from my house but I don't know
anyone who lives or works, for that matter, in that area.

"Are you busy?" He says kind of hesitantly.

It's him! "No, just watching a movie. What's going on with you?" He
better have an excuse and a good one at that or he will get the ax
fast.

"I've been moving all week. Sore ankle and all," he says. He does sound
tired, very tired.

"So, you are back up at school?" I say. This should be good because he
told me he didn't have to be back until this coming Monday.

"Actually I am moving from my apartment at school because they have
discovered some black mold or whatever the hell you call it in the
building structure so we had to move immediately for health reasons."

He had a good excuse. "I saw that on the news. That was your
University apartment building." I tried to sound as concerned as
possible.

"Yes, but in a way it is kind of a blessing in disguise because now I am
moving about fifteen miles away from school which puts me closer to
home."

Why would he want to be closer to home? I am smiling now but I won't
get all of my hopes up high. "You're homesick now after three years
down there?" I say waiting for the answer before I even finished the
question.

"A little. I wish I could stay at home. My roommate is a good friend
of mine but he is a slob. It gets nerve wrecking after a while."

That's a good reason. Maybe. "How's your ankle?" I say.

"It could be better but I am able to run drills and keep up at warm
ups."

"Warm ups?" I really didn't know what he meant.

"Yes, since the season hasn't officially started yet we can't call it
practice because of restrictions with the NCAA. But it really is
practice."

"Oh," I say, "So when will you be back here."

"I'm glad you asked because I was thinking you might be a little mad at
me since I haven't called since Sunday."

"I figured you were busy but I didn't call you either so I really can't
be mad at you," I say wholeheartedly. I couldn't let him take all of
them blame.

"Well, I was wondering if you would like to come down here to visit me
this weekend," he is asking me to come over again. Atleast we're on
the same page. "It would only take you about twenty minutes and you
could be back home before it gets late."

"I don't think I have any other plans." I know I don't. "So I will see
you Saturday then."

"Cool," was all he said. He sounded relieved. Like he was the one that
was nervous. Like maybe I would turn him down. Guys really do go
through the same things we go through.

"I will see you Saturday. But I do need directions," I say as I reach
for my heart pad and pen.

Marc gave me very explicit directions then his phone number and pager
number. He continues to small talk with me for a few minutes then he
says he has to return to his unpacking and that he will talk to me
tomorrow. I think we are about to cross some more boundaries and I am
not worried about it all.
