Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story ‘You are lying about Liam asking me out. He's not at work. He's at a funeral, and tomorrow he is off as well.' ‘Rhian, I overheard him asking you out, and you said yes.' Rhian went back to work, scrolling down on her phone to see if she still had his number in contacts. Then she remembered - when he said he didn't want to see her anymore, she deleted the number. Now, what was she going to do? Shirley had played pranks on her before, especially when they were in school, so why should she start trusting her now? She only had her word that Liam had asked her out. She was thinking about going around to Liam's house, but she'd look a fool if she had to stand on his doorstep with him wondering what she was going on about. Saturday morning came. Rhian didn't want to get out of bed. She was just wanted to lie there till she had to go to work on the Monday, then she would be oblivious to anything she had said or done at that party. Why did she have to get so drunk? Anything that had happened at that party was a complete blank. She remembered going to it but that was all. She was planning on becoming teetotal from now on. At least it would save her from getting into any more trouble. After getting out of bed, she got herself ready, then went into town to get some shopping, still wondering what to do that evening - stay at home or risk going to the cinema and just hope it wasn't one of Shirley's pranks Four-thirty came and Rhian had made up her mind. She was going to go to the multiplex, and if that so-called best friend of hers had set her up, she was going to get her own back on her, even if it was the last thing she did. After going up to her bedroom, Rhian opened her wardrobe, hoping she could find something suitable to wear. Of course, she had something suitable to wear. She had lots of clothes. She couldn't resist buying them whenever she was in town, especially when the sales were on. Once she had decided what she was going to wear, she was going to get a shower, then get dressed. When she had dressed she made her way to the bus stop. But while at the stop, she was about to walk away and go back home. But as she went to walk away the bus pulled up at the stop, so she got on. Once at the multiplex, she waited and waited, but there was no sign of him. So there was only one thing to do - go to McDonald's across the way. She was going to get herself a coffee and a Big Mac. Then, making her way towards McDonald's she heard someone shout: ‘Hey, Rhyan, wait!' She turned around and when she realised who was shouting, she thought to herself, it couldn't be. ‘Sorry I'm late,' he said when he had caught up with her ‘I got held up. A friend arrived at my house at the last minute. He needed some advice.' ‘It's OK,' she answered in a calm manner. You are here now and that is all that matters.'
