I have always wondered why everyone is so involved in what I do or do not do. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story all the time. The only thing is I don't know it is a presentiment until afterwards. Like I could dream of someone and they would call. I would not notice the fact that I had dreamed about them until well after the phone conversation. Sometimes it could be days. But this presentiment is different. It is like it wants me to see it. It wants me to follow its path. I guess I have an unplanned journey. Or was it planned regardless as to whether I am directly involved or just a benefactor. I can't worry about this now I have shopping on the mind with helping my sister-in-law Tina choose and accessorize her anniversary (no they are not married yet; it's a yearly anniversary thing) wardrobe. A gift of mine. "What about this?" Tina says paying close attention to my facial expression. It always gives me away. "You were in deep thought weren't you?" She catches me. "Fine if you want him to rip your clothes off as soon as he sees you." I say sarcastically. "Yes, I was thinking about my powers." I love rattling her! "Your powers? What powers? Nevermind. That explanation could take us off track. Anyway, I like the color, "she says, "it's bright and alluring." I can tell she really wants to know but she knows me well and I will dance all around the question until she just can't take it anymore. I love this. "It's orange and that is all that matters to you," I say. We are both very true to our favorite colors. "Let's try something bold and sexy. What about this?" I say pointing at a long black dress with a high front split and little dangling fringe in certain spotted areas. "Perfect!" she says. We're off to look for shoes and a purse to complete the fashion statement. "So, are you going to the Thanksgiving Party at Pharaoh's next Thursday?" Tina says on the way to hosiery. "Why is everyone so interested in me going? First, your sister Shana then Nita mentions it and now you. What's going on? I can't live vicariously through your relationships?" I say picking a fight to change the subject. I don't know why they all (including my mother and sister) feel I should be dating more. Just because they don't see who I date they feel I am lonely. Just because I am alone doesn't' mean I am lonely. In fact, I know a lot of married people and couples who are together but are as lonely as can be. "Just asking," was her reply but I knew she wanted to say more. "Off to shoes," she says after picking up a pair of nylons with the line going up the back. "Sexy, sexy," was my giggly return and we were off to find spiked heels. Maybe I should be finding an outfit for Pharaoh's? of course it would have to be either black or purple. I forgot to mention that I love black. In fact, in high school my mother said she thought I was in mourning or something because all I wore was black. Actually, I like the way the color black looks against my honey colored skin. Marvelous. I know I may sound conceited or self involved to some but I love myself and it has taken me a long time to get to the point where I could give myself a compliment. So now I do at every possible moment. My grandmother told me that if you do not think you are pretty or if you do not think good things of yourself no one else will either. This is true. So very true. ********************************************************************** More chapters soon. Also, please vote on this for me. It has taken me a long time to get to the point where I could express myself on paper. I've been so afraid of being misunderstood. This is an awakening for me so I need your help. Comments are so very appreciated. Thank you. Tweet
