My story is true. It is about seeing Angels. My husbands parents died a year apart and I made a promise to take care of them. I did, and now my Papa is here beside me, watching out for me. I see him whenever I am in trouble. He is my Guardian Angel. | |||

The next year Papa kept getting worse, and soon became bed ridden. I would go check on him in the middle of the night and find him on the floor. The hospital bed and a baby monitor became a lifesaver. Three days before Papa died was the first visit. Day 1: I was in the family room talking to Lara, (my husband’s daughter), when Papa called for me to go upstairs and get him another blanket. As I am coming down, I glanced in to the living room. To my amazement there were people sitting all around the room. As I looked, I called out to Lara, ”oh my God, grandma’s in the living room with a lot of other people”. I just stood there. I could not move, I was not afraid, I did not understand what I was seeing. Lara, being physic, got up and went into the living room to see if she could feel what I was seeing. To my surprise she sat in the chair her grandmother was standing behind. I said, “Lara, grandma just put her hand on your shoulder”. We both started to cry. After a few minutes she got up, I continued down and together we walked towards the living room. On the way, we passed in front of the stairs and I stopped. Lara said, ”What’s wrong?” I answered, “There is a little girl sitting on the stairs watching through the bars”. Lara looked and from the expression on her face, I knew she saw nothing. I told her I must be tired, either that or I was going crazy, one of the two. Lara left and I went to sit with Papa. Day 2 Papa and I were watching TV, when, I noticed a man standing in the doorway watching us. I got up to see what he wanted but when I got to the door, no one was there. I went back to my chair, sat down looked at the doorway, there he was, leaning on the bar watching Papa and me. A man with black hair, a mustache, dark eyes, wearing a red pull over golf sweater, and blue jeans. This time was different though, I could not see through him. He looked real, but every time I got up and went to the doorway, he would disappear. I will never forget anything about him. Day 3 I had called Mark told him I thought he better come home, I did not think it would be long for Papa. He became too sick for me to care for anymore. Under the advice of his doctor, Hospice came to pick him up. As they were taking him out of the house I was in tears, I told the nurse my promise to Papa. She reassured me, telling me I could come with him and stay as long as I wanted. Mark, Calli (my dog), and I went to Hospice and we never left his side. Five days later Papa died. We went to Los Angles for the funeral. All the family was there, (about 40). I was telling a few of Mark’s cousins about my experiences and when I told them about the people in the living room they told me it was probably Ethel’s brothers and sisters that came with her to wait for Papa. I said, “If that’s true, what did the little girl have to so with it?” All their mouths fell open. One cousin asked me, “You saw a little girl, how old was she?” I replied, “About 8 or 9”. “Oh my God,” an aunt whispered “What? I said. “Tilley” She replied. “Who’s Tilley”? I asked. “Tilley was Ethel’s sister who died when she was 9.” One aunt replied. I had never met any of Ethel’s brothers or sisters because they were all dead when I came into the family, and never heard of Tilley. After the funeral, Mark and I went back to Las Vegas. A few days later Mark and I were eating dinner and I told him all of my experiences. The one that bothered me the most was when my dog started barking at the front door. I had gone to the door and looked out the peephole, saw three guys standing there and could hear voices. I held my dog by the collar, opened the door, no one was there, closed the door looked out the peephole, and there they were, I knew, I was going crazy. I asked Mark, “Do you think I am crazy?” He said, “No, maybe delusional or over tired”. I continued telling him, I had seen something move in the corner of the room. I never saw anything specific, but I knew something would go by fast, and then my dog would go to the same spot and start barking. I knew he did not believe a word I was saying. Who would? When all of a sudden Calli, ran over to the corner and started barking. I looked at Mark and said, “See, what ‘s she barking at? You saw that, I didn’t make it up, you saw her with your own eyes.” He did not say a word. The night before Mark was leaving to go back on the truck, he was sleeping on the couch. I was upstairs going through some of Papa’s things because we had decided to sell the house, when Calli started barking. I ran down to see why she was barking. She was barking at the front door, so I went to see who was there. I looked out the peephole and what I saw made me run to where Mark was sleeping, screaming, “ POP IS AT THE DOOR!” he jumped up grabbed Calli, went to the door, looked out the peephole, looked at me in disgust, and opened the door. “No one’s there, Sue, he said, No is trying to break in.” “I did not say that, I said it’s Pop at the door, I see Pop.” I cried. “Pop, well why doesn’t he just come, why is he knocking?” He laughed. The next morning Mark left to drop the truck in the yard and tell his boss he was quitting. He came home we sold the house, went to San Francisco, bought a boat, and came back to Lake Mead. Another visit from Papa: We had gone to a wedding on the lake, and by boat was the only way to get there. We stayed in the cove for three days and when we it was time to leave, Mark told me that I’d to drive our boat, by myself back to the marina. I had never driven a boat before, but I was willing, He had to help take all the chairs to another marina and drive a little runabout back to ours. Mark explained, there were two buoys by Black Island, and I was not to go between them because our boat was too big and would drag bottom. He told me he would catch up with me before I got there. I started the boat and left. Did not really know how to get back, but I was told to follow the coastline. I was almost to Black Island, saw the buoys, and did not know what he meant. The winds started to pick up. I was getting a little nervous. I kept looking back for him but he was not there. Now I am really getting scared, right at Black Island, and I do not know what to do. I turned to look for Mark, “someone” tapped me on the shoulder, I swung around, the boat dipped a little in front, because the water was getting rough, which created spray off the sides, which created a rainbow, and inside the rainbow was a glow. It was so bright I could not take my eyes away, then it started to dim, and I could see a boat coming towards me. I kept watching. I stopped my boat. All of a sudden, the other boat was right in front of me. I noticed it was as big as I was and it came through. If that boat, as big as mine could come this way, I could go, that way. Therefore, I put the boat in gear, went through, and made it back to the marina. I believe Papa is the one that tapped me on the shoulder and made me turn around to see the boat, so I had which way to go. There are many more stories I could tell you. I have seen him every time I get scared or really need help. The most remarkable thing is I can show you where Papa is to watch over us. Mark and I were out in our sailboat, just adrift fishing. Two planes went passed each other and created an x in the sky, and just below the x at the top of a mountain was a profile. If you look long enough at anything, you can create your own image in your mind. Well this is no image. If you want to come to Las Vegas Bay Marina and go out on the boat with me, I will give you a picture of My Papa, show you the mountain, and you can see for yourself, My Papa is there, his profile, on that mountain, protecting us when we go out on the lake.
